Privacy.

Short and in plain English. What readz keeps, where, and why.

Your account

readz needs an account: one Google sign-in, through the identity service shared by every waiyer and waiyers app (memo among them), so each person is one user managed in one place. With it we keep your e-mail address, your name and your profile picture.

What you read

When the readz service can be reached, the texts you read, your reading sessions and your stats are stored with your account, so your history follows you from one device to another. Without a connection, reading works entirely on the device, and your history syncs when you are back online.

When you share a web page’s link, readz fetches that page to keep only the article text.

On your device

Your settings (speed, sizes, ORP colour, auto-start, read-aloud) are kept on the device. Read-aloud uses the text-to-speech voices installed on your device. readz needs no permission to start reading.

Analytics and advertising

The app has no analytics, no tracking and no advertising. This website may count visits with PostHog, hosted in the European Union, only when a build turns it on; it is off unless a build explicitly enables it.

Contact

Questions, or a request to delete your account and what readz holds about it: contact@waiyer.com. readz is made by waiyer.
